Team Leader for the ADB-funded TA for the Yunnan Trade, Environmental and Social Analysis Project.

Team Leader for the ADB-funded TA for the feasibility study of the trade between Thailand, China and Lao PDR.

 

LAO PDR 1995/96

Home office director for ADB TA for the institutional strengthening of trade and development for national air carrier Lao Aviation. Supervised progress of study and preparation of reports.

 

BANGLADESH 1991/96

Project co-director of a joint venture financed by USAID that provided a 10-person team of financial and economic advisors for over four years to assist in the structural reform of the country's financial system. This project was part of the World Bank's $175 million credit to reform the Central Bank's policies and make the major commercial banks viable.

 

VIETNAM 1994/95

Home office technical director for an ADB-financed project for the development of trade in Vietnam. Participated in PSC meeting in Hanoi and monitored progress of economic analysis.

 

PHILIPPINES 1992/95

Home office technical director for the USAID-financed Maritime Trade Consultancy Project. Monitored progress of two large-scale studies to address the Philippines' need for liberalized shipping rates and for strengthened shipping sector policies and export opportunities.

 


BANGLADESH 1988/92

Principal-in-Charge for a technical assistance project to advise management and rehabilitate Bangladesh's two development banks (BSB and BSRS). The project was funded by the United Nations Development Program (UNDP), with the Asian Development Bank serving as the executing agency.

 

BANGLADESH 1986/92

Economic member of six-person Panel of Experts established by World Bank, under UNDP financing, to provide technical oversight for the economic and technical studies for the construction of a multipurpose bridge over the Jamuna River.

 

BANGLADESH 1984/90

Home office manager for the USAID-funded Rural Finance Project, which provided technical assistance to the Agricultural Credit Department of the Bangladesh Bank in an attempt to strengthen rural credit.

 

LIBERIA 1987/89

Home office manager for firm's component of the USAID financed National Recovery and Planning Project, which provided senior advisers to all government ministries.

 

LEBANON 1983/85

Principal-in-Charge of the National Reconstruction and Development Planning Project, a USAID-funded contract. The objectives of this project were to assist the government to plan and implement a program to rebuild the economy following more than 10 years of war and internal strife.

 

EASTERN EUROPE 1983

Team Leader for a UNDP and EEC-funded mission to evaluate the feasibility of the Trans-European Motorway to increase trade between Western and Eastern Europe which involved visits, data gathering and analysis of trade flows through five countries.

 

EGYPT 1982

Team Leader on a USAID-funded economic, financial and technical evaluation of a large-scale housing project for low income Egyptians.

 

MALAWI 1982

Team Leader for an economic and physical planning study and evaluation of two USAID financed shelters sector programs.

 

THAILAND 1980/82

Home office manager for the Asian Development Bank-funded study to develop a long range energy master plan related to the development of offshore natural gas in the Gulf of Siam.

Project Director for the World Bank-funded project to assist the Ministry of Communications to establish a transportation management information system (MIS) and train staff in economic and financial analysis.

NIGERIA 1976/80

Provided home-office support and field supervision for a World Bank-financed program to assist the country's Transportation Planning Unit. This project involved all phases of transport planning, policy, and coordination in the preparation of the country's Third Five-Year Plan.
