Objectives: Study the role of distance education and, more particularly, the role of e-learning in the education of the 21st Century.

Status: Prasena is working with academic and research partners on the promotion of global exchanges of views and debate on the matter. Opportunities and Threats of the Virtual World

Partner:Ecpat

Objectives: Study the opportunities and threats that the Internet represents when used by individuals, and in particular young individuals.

Status: As an initial step, Prasena has worked with Ecpat, an organization specialized in the protection of children, to design and conduct an online survey with the view to understand the use of Internet by children, their information and awareness of risks, their exposure to, and their attitude towards possible dangers. This survey was first conducted in Thailand in August 2002, and produced striking results.

Sustainable Development

Partner: Center for Energy-Environment Research & Development

Partner:
Thammasat University

Objective: Design micro-economic indicators adapted to the corporate world but in line with macro-economic indicators currently under development by UN and other international institutions.

Status: Prasena is working with private business organizations (to identify their perception of sustainable development and the type of available indicators they do/could use) and with the CEERD and Thammasat University to research on the matter. The idea is to develop a set of indicators that would be submitted to interested UN commissions while being used for the design of audit systems in organizations.

Further partnerships for this project would be welcome.

Innovation versus Creativity

Partner: Dr. BK Passi and Dr. S. Passi

Objective: Identify the gaps between the growing needs in creativity and innovation within organizations and the actual creativity skills available among employees and students.

Status: Prasena is working with renowned creativity experts Dr. BK Passi and Dr. S. Passi on the design of a survey system that would allow the capture of data from both organizations and students and the identification of creativity requirements vs. availability gaps. This survey will be developed as an online solution to facilitate wide geographical coverage and automate processing.

Prasena is exploring the possibilities to involve further expertise (US, China, Japan) in the project.

Internetworking

Partner: Mr. Christian Cloché
Objective: Develop a global online networking platform for individual consultants.

Status: Prasena is working with renowned management consultant and entrepreneur Mr. Christian Cloché on the development of an online networking platform offering to professional consultants the possibility to share and leverage their knowledge, and therefore enabling them to significantly expand the scope of their own offering. The network will have a public platform, a members-only virtual space as well as individual private virtual offices for members.

Prasena is beginning to welcome pioneering members who contribute to the design of the online services offered by the network.
